Some free time on the farm to ponder these things. Going to keep it light for the rest of 08, hopefully staying out of this rut I am in.
NHL09 - buying tomorrow Fifa09 - Only one soccer game required this year. Blitz II - I enjoyed the original and will be a nice alternative to NCAA09. College Basketball 09 - This one should be an improvement over last year and it appears online will not stink (thanks to lag). That is it. |

Possibly NCAA Basketball 09.
That is it. |

Picked up Spore on 9/8.
Fallout 3 (and will probably significantly upgrade PC since its been over 2 years). Can't think of anything else. Gotta lot of current games to play with you lads. |

That might be the understatement of the year. |

I may very well do the 'keep it' thing on NHL '09 depending on how the online community develops. Tiger is great but I bet I'll be over it by mid-October. Fallout will be a definite purchase (I logged 200 hours into Oblivion and loved loved loved it all) and Spore has me intrigued. Need something to play on my new Macbook.

Spore is a fun little game. My son is already into civilization level, while I am happy tooling around as a creature. I find it fun to play for about 30 minutes at a time and the creation tools are so easy and there is so much you can do with them.
I don't find it living up to the hype, but there is definitely a neat evolution (pun not intended) to gaming here, much like what Will Wright did with the original Sims and Sims 2. It's a different kind of gaming to be sure. |

You could always trade in UEFA 2008 for Fifa 09 - hint hint nudge nudge. I figured I would be alone with the Blitz II purchase. |

I'll see if FIFA 09 is indeed a big upgrade from UEFA 2008. I have a feeling it won't be in gameplay.

I could use some of that! Went to return Battlefront 2 to Gamestop, asked them for Spore, they had run out. The local Gamestop got completely re-done, and the people there (though the same) seem to be behaving better. It's not so third-worldy in there any more. I'm still VERY sad that the mom and pop I used to buy games at kicked the bucket and got replaced by an ice cream store. It was really a satellite store of a place on Junction Blvd. which still exists, but for some reason they shut down the one near me. Junction is about 15 blocks away from me and straight up feels like you are in South America. I still pop by there sometimes (it involves taking the express train and then backtracking two stops to get home) but it's not the same sweet arrangement as stepping off the train and having the store on the way home to inspect whatever used titles have come in. There used to be four places to find games on 82nd st. in my neighborhood. Now only Gamestop remains. |

Hey, when does the buy-2-get-1-free TRU deal usually take place, anyhoo. That might effect my buying plans.
