Guide a team of youngsters to the Little League World 
Series in this whimsical baseball title from Activision.
  As in previous versions, the presentation features wide-eyed 
youngsters rendered in a cel-shaded art style. A number of training 
exercises in pitching, batting, fielding, and base running are available
 to help you learn the controls. In the field, you can perform diving or
 jumping catches, scoop up ground balls, and use "talents" for an added 
boost in abilities. Licensed equipment includes Easton gear, Wilson 
batting helmets, Louisville Slugger bats, and more. The main tournament 
series offers both a U.S. bracket and an international bracket. For a 
break from the main game, you can participate in such mini-games as 
pitching darts, around the horn, dunk dugout, and pitching bowling. A 
home run tournament is also included, as are collectible baseball cards.

But what can they do if there’s a rain delay? Activision has added another video-game alternative, in the form of Little League World Series Baseball 2010. Unlike the Wii-centric 2008 and 2009 versions, the latest installment of the game is available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. “We felt it was time to finally bring the popular Little League series to gamers playing Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3,” said David Oxford of Activision Publishing. “Little League World Series Baseball 2010 is visually stunning and packed with tons of new content, while remaining an accessible pick-up-and-play game for the whole family.” This season’s version adds new season and career modes as well as more robust online functionality, including leaderboards and the ability to post records. Past versions of the game were filled with powerups and over-the-top gameplay, and we expect more of the same for 2010. Look for it this July for $39.99.

	I have to say this is not a bad little game. It keeps track of how long I have played it and I am up to 17 hours. I had a really long post, thourougly covering this game, that is gone forever due to my forgetting to cut and paste and getting the timeout error.
