June 8, 2009 - Realistic fighting fans won't have to endure EA's yearly regurgitation of their sports games.

Speaking with Kotaku, Peter Moore, head of Electronic Arts' sports division, confirms the company plans to release a new game in each series on alternating years.

"It gives us a rhythm of a fighting game every year," Moore said. "That's the plan. If you think of 2010, we're bringing MMA. In 2011, Fight Night Round 5." Moore would quickly say he's not officially confirmed FNR5, however.

This is a good move. It gives EA time to make significant improvements on each iteration on the series while also providing fighting fans something to chew on each year.
