Dead Space?

I'm not Ted, but I played through a good chunk of it on a rental.

Great graphics and some really cool environments.  Wonderful audio. 

Gameplay is largely a series of (plot-credibility-straining) fetch quests, interrupted by several triggered set-pieces.  Rinse and repeat.

Now don't get me wrong, I had fun shooting the alien guys up, but despite how good it looked, sounded, and felt, it sorta became 'more of the same' for me after a while.  It's got some great presentation, though, and that might be enough to get you through the whole game, but the fun ran out for me maybe 2/3rds of the way through.

I do keep meaning to re-rent it and give it another shot, though.
