I was very interested in Hydro Thunder but got turned off by some negative reviews. I may have to re-think that purchase.

I think the IGN review is strangely low. Check out the demo, Jason. You can try the various race modes and check out the leaderboards and such.
I've read that online multiplayer is a lot of fun too, but I have yet to try it. |

There's a time-limited multiplayer (10 min) in the demo as well. I don't know if you can use it with friends and/or with folks who have the full game, but if so, we can give it a shot together to see how it plays.

Will look into the demo. Never really cared for those type of racing games with boosts and such. In fact as I am typing this I recall having this game on the Dreamcast, well the earlier version of it when the franchise was owned by Midway.

I really enjoyed the Hydro Thunder demo. I've always been a fan of over-the-top racers, so I'll probably pick it once things quiet down for me a little bit.
