Best I've played, though super-old-school, is TV Sports Basketball for PC. You could edit the rosters, and it pretty accurately felt like the real players and teams. Plus it had good AI, and was challenging even after a long time. Probably would still be challenging if I booted it up today. Best mobile Basketball Game: NCAA Hoops 2006 :-) :-) :-) Seriously, it's easy to play and really fast and fun. Other good older games: - Gamestar Championship Basketball (Amiga) - NBA Jam (Arcade and PS) - Tecmo Super Basketball (Genesis I think, may have been SNES) - Larry Bird and Dr. J go One on One (Mac/PC) (Gosh am I old-school!! :-) Of the modern games, I liked Inside Drive the best. The EA and 2K Sports games have awesome atmosphere and feature sets, but again, gameplay generally seems too complex and random for me. |

Dr. J vs Larry Bird was great at the time... I also enjoyed the old Lakers vs Celtics game for the PC... Of the current gen, there is no doubt that ID 2004 is my favorite... Kevin |

Never played the PC version but Lakers vs Celtics on the Genesis was pure bliss. Players had special moves/dunks when they were at certain positions on the courts. Tom Chambers with his double clutch jump over the defense from the 3-point line is one of the greatest feats ever displayed on a basketball video game. Especially for a white guy.  -------------
