This has nothing to do with the NCAA09 league. I am still a go for that. Just figured that since EA spent so much time with this mode and all that it would be worthwhile giving this a shot. Most of the time is spent playing CPU games so it would be like running an offline dynasty with a few user-user games. -------------

I've never played a dynasty mode in a sports game in my life, so I'm not exactly sure what this entails. What's involved in doing this?

I needed to use you as an example (you are the only gamertag I have with NCAA09) so you will be getting some invites as i was testing the system. Dynasty is as simple as you want it to be. You pretty much manage your team, depth chart, you can edit your offensive/defensive scheme and tweak your playbook to some other team. All of the recruiting stuff can be done by the CPU so it is not something you are forced to do. In an online dynasty you are locked into playing a schedule as edited by the Dynasty creator. No matter who you use you are forced into playing the conference schedule, those can't be edited. The 3-4 non conference games can be edited by the commish. So what I did as a test was start an online dynasty putting both of us in the same conference (that way we have one user/user game a year). I used a weak conference because the fun of a dynasty is building up a weak team into a powerhouse. Each week you do your recruiting and play your game. After everyone in the dynasty has performed this task you go to the next week until the end of the season/bowl/BCS games. After that is over you start a new season and bring in the new recruits. So as a test I setup one using the Sun Belt. Sun Belt Arkansas State 62 73 60 FIU 67 70 66 Florida Atlantic 72 77 71 Mid Tenn State 67 73 69 North Texas 69 75 69 - Brent Troy 72 70 78 UL Lafayette 69 77 66 - Jason UL Monroe 67 75 66 The more people in the dynasty, the more user/user games you will have (assuming they are scheduled properly in the non-conference games - for dynasties that run off of different conferences) The one advantage to individuals playing in the different conferences is the possibility of a user/user matchup in a bowl game. -------------

Nope, in fact I was going to delete it. Just testing to see how things work. There is another option where we all use different conferences and play it just like an offline dynasty with all games vs. CPU (only way we play each other would be a bowl or BCS game). -------------

I have to have a list of the teams first. I enter in a gamertag and select the team. Everyone plays by the same settings and I already have the rosters named. In the dynasty you will use the same rosters as the ones brought into the dynasty by the person running it. Since this will be mostly CPU games I was thinking something along the lines of All-American 7 minutes Injuries: On Fatigue: On Ice the Kicker: On All the other stuff: Off Also I do have the ability to move sliders around if necessary. So if we all agree something needs to be tweaked we can. This runs just like an offline dynasty and all of the options are the same. So what we need are who all plan to participate and the team they want to run a dynasty with. -------------

Forgot to add there is no need for the honor system. The game actually tracks how many times someone restarts an online dynasty game (CPU or user/user) and the information is available to Commish. -------------

Let's start picking teams. Hopefully this can be a long term mode, so I am going to take my favorite team (Oklahoma) and run in the Big 12. Forgot to add that even if all of our games are vs. the CPU we will be fighting for the same recruits. -------------

Just remember, with online dynasty the playbook/defensive and offensive formations are free to tweak as you wish. So for example if you want to play with say Georgia and use Rutgers Playbook and switch to the 3-4 defense the choice is yours. -------------

Brent, that really sucks. I hope it isn't the death signal or if it is I hope you get a fast turnaround. Grambo, you can have USC. I'm using them in the league because we were going with top tier teams and I used to live in Pasadena so I do have a liking for them. I'm not going to use them in the online dynasty though because they are too good already. I'm a little surprised that you guys want to play dynasties with really good teams. I though Brent originally said we should go with lower teams to try and build something. Doesn't matter to me though. At this point I'm leaning toward UTEP or Kentucky. I did have one idea for an online dynasty team draft that assured we all played another human at least once. If you guys are interested in hearing that let me know. I'm good with this format though. Edit: I must say I am really peeved with the treatment of Kansas in this year's version. I didn't expect them to be a powerhouse in 09, but their rating can't be right. -------------

I am considering buying the unit for $299.99, sending this one off and just keeping two since this is my second RROD. All the new units have HDMI so that would have been my only concern. Going to store right now and will talk about dynasty when I get back. -------------

Picked up the Arcade system, so I am good to go. Just needed something with HDMI. As for the dynasty, I think you are right going with weak teams (under 70 or so). That way the recruiting aspect has more importance and we can see who can build the best team from scratch. I am game for either option but think it would be best if we all stick to one or the other. -------------

I can use OU in my offline dynasty. It really might be best to go with lower ranked teams. Yea, Kansas got burned in the ratings, for a team they made #15 in the polls. -------------

dynasty yesterday with Army and it was fun trying to claw it out with
another lowlife team. I probably won't go with Army for the
online dynasty but will find someone suitable. I really wished
they included the 1AA teams for play. Oh, by the way, I have Pastapadres rosters and apparently they fixed the problem of crashing as I have had no problems with them yet. If anyone wants them, access my EA locker and look for the roster called pastapadre. |

Here's some bad news from http://www.pastapadre.com/2785/online-dynasty-disaster - PastaPadre : Online Dynasty in NCAA Football 09 was shaping up to be to be one of, if not the best new feature in a sports game in years. It had a true next-gen feel to it and into just the first week of the feature it had rejuvenated my interest in playing games against the CPU. The ability to have most of the games against the CPU offered the flexibility to progress a dynasty smoothly (unlike online leagues) while keeping the interactivity of having other users involved made it an exciting proposition. Unfortunately the biggest feature for the game doesn’t appear to work right, as numerous reports of different things happening to wreck dynasties have been reported. That is the case with the Pastapadre Online Dynasty, which before week one could even be completed has seen an early death. I can no longer load into the dynasty as it just bumps me back to the main menu, and looking at the settings from the outside shows completely inaccurate settings and sliders. Needless to say this is one of the most frustrating developments
I’ve ever experienced when it comes to sports gaming. Previous years
have brought terrible online performance though that was corrected with
09. Now the most anticipated and hyped feature doesn’t function
correctly. And for those that haven’t had problems yet they’ll have to
face anxiety each time they load it up. Not exactly the experience that

| When was that dated Jason? I know there were problems at first - he even removed it from his locker so that nobody else could d/l it. The guy I got it from said he just got it recently and he has not had a problem with his dynasties, and so far I have seen no problem. I'll keep on testing it I guess. |

Okay it is setup. Finally added in the space and got your gamertag added in. Here is what we have and the changes I have made. 7 minutes All-American Inj - On Fatigue - on Ice Kicker - off Home Field Adv - off pick defense after int - off The only person with a FCS (old 1-aa) team on their schedule was Jason. I changed it to a game against Army. Since me and Ted are in the same conference we have one game against each other. To keep it even I edited the first game of the year for Jason/Grambo to play each other. If you want any changes we need to do it before we start the season. If anyone else is interested teams can still be added. -------------

That has been happening on and off lately. Might be what they are doing with the servers to fix the online dynasty issues (the problem is with the servers and not the software). I was thinking a week would be a fair time frame. Pretty sure that if someone does not get in a game it will simulate it. Also you do not have to play the CPU games. If you are having one of those weeks and do not have time to play a game the user can simulate the game themself. -------------

I am going to roll this over to start of season late Monday Night (11 central). 7 days to get your game in each week (if you have one) and 10 hours of recruiting. If we all get in our games/recruiting early, I will start the next week and put in the comment what day the next game/recruiting needs to be completed (7 days from when it is rolled over). -------------

Okay a few slight changes to the schedule with the addition of Akron (Kevin). Akron has Syracuse on it's schedule so it will replace the (user/user created game with Jason/Grambo). Akron also had Army on the schedule in the exact week I had put them against Jason to replace the generic FCS game. Jason, you now have Temple in that spot. Both Jason and Grambos schedules now have the original openers. Grambo is the only one without a user/user game but if Fazeo joins I will make sure they have a game. -------------

Also, a guy from AGE (JaredPK1000) is definitely interested in joining. He's a good guy and loves to play sports games and is really itching to be in dynasty mode. |

Jason must have caught me right after registering! Quick bit about myself. I am a 26 yr old gamer from Kansas. I am also a member at adultgamingenthusiasts.com and participate there in online gaming of all kinds. I have console gamed most of my life. Sports & racing games are my favorite titles, but I also play quite a few FPS titles. Grambo told me about the site here, and I am looking to join in with you guys for NCAA 09, and other sports titles that suit my fancy down the road. Grambo told me the dynasty is consisting of 70s rated teams. I have played quite a bit as KU and TCU... both around high 70s in their overall. I would love to join in with either one of those squads. It all started with a last play victory over OU 26-22 and ended the season against Clemson 24-21 in the Orange Bowl. |

Okay it let you in, starting at week one (Kansas). I have no idea what pre-season tasks it will let you do since it started it at week one. I was not able to edit your schedule (we removed all FCS games) so you will have one of those. These are all CPU-CPU games, unless you meet someone here in a bowl. There is a league in the works (Ted is in charge) and that will be straight up head to head. Head to Online Dynasty from the Xbox Live menu in NCAA09 and check your invites. 7 day max time to complete tasks before they are simmed. Good luck and welcome aboard. -------------

| Thanks, hopefully I can meet someone in a bowl. The only preseason task that I should miss out on will be assigning redshirts. I can adjust my recruiting board to my desires. I will check on the league, and also send out some friend's requests from other members of the dynasty. |
