It looks like Fight Night Round 3 will be priced at $39.99 (except for the Xbox 360), which is $10 cheaper than the previous two versions.

Yep that is the great part about holding off on next gen until fall. Every game I am interested in are listed at $39.99 or lower.
MVP 06 $29.99 Torino 06 $19.99 Fight Night Rd 3 $39.99 NFL Head Coach $39.99 Arena Football $39.99 WE9 $39.99 Rugby 06 $39.99
and I would guess a $29.99 to $39.99 price for MLB 2K6...

Wow, I didn't realize that EA was releasing MVP 06 at $29.99.
I was excited to see the price of Fight Night Round 3 until I remebered about all the ridiculous mini-games they're adding to the gameplay. If they're not optional, I'm going to pass on Round 3.

They seem to toss in something each year that bothers me.
First Fight Night it was the announcer and lack of clinching. Second one which I only rented a couple times it was the Haymaker.
The more I think about it I will probably not even purchase this one and hold off till I get a 360 and buy that version used. Will definately give it a rent on the Xbox.

I'm looking forward to this one on the 360. As a boxing fan, I've been disappointed with the last few, but the graphics upgrade is at least going to warrant a rent for me.

I agree. I'd be tempted to get Fight Night Rd 3 for the 360 too just for the graphics upgrade. The videos I've seen have been pretty impressive.

The FN series has always created a lot of excitement for me initially, but after a week or so it gets set aside. I'm just not a proponent of the "haymaker". I wish they would limit the usage of it to once or twice a round. It's just not fun going online with this game because of the "haymaker" abuse.

That's why I never play against random people online. Playing against the right opponent (like I do with Ted) makes all the difference.

That's a good point. Game with those you know. I know I'll cave in and buy the game when it launches for the 360. I'm a sucker for the big 4 sports along with tennis and boxing.
Top Spin 2 could be a sleeper hit this year. I say "sleeper" because I think many people tired of the online "cheese" and the lack of in game tournament saves. If they fixed those two areas, I might just buy it as well.

You know, when I think about it, I haven't had a problem with random opponents yet on the 360 (knock on wood). I think a positive side effect of the 360's higher price point is that it has kinda priced itself out of the "teen" market. As a result, I'm finding a good deal of "mature" gamers when I play, which is both surprising and refreshing.
