After buying my new widescreen HDTV a few weeks ago, I decided to continue my free-spending ways and bought a new digital camera and digital camcorder today. What's even scarier is that my wife was onboard with both purchases.

Ahh, how true. I've never been able to buy more than 1 game system per generation though.

I'm now trying to squeeze a new progressive-scan DVD player into the mix. I'm getting some resistance from my wife on this purchase, but I'll post the results.

 Brent, that's amazing. You posted a pick of the exact one I wanted: Sony DVD Player (I want HDMI output and upconverting capabilities).

Nice purchases.  I would love to get a digital camcorder, but at this time the funds just aren't there.  After spending dough on the 360 and a LCD tv, there's no way I could condone the purchase.  Still, we're missing out on some memorable moments with our kids.

Camcorders have come down in price though.

The only way I was able to purchase all this new equipment was by getting approved for a Sony credit card with no interest for 18 months. I also waited for the prices to drop and for some freebies and rebates to be included in the deal.

I haven't made puchases like these since I had kids (over 5 years ago). Plus, we really needed a new camcorder (we have an old VHS-C type) and camera (Canon 2 MP) because we also felt we were missing out on memorable moments with our kids.
