So now that Christmas is over, what did you get this year?

My wife bought me SOCOM 3 and 'Pirates of Silicon Valley' on DVD (it certainly took long enough for this movie to be released on DVD). She also bought me an Intellivision Plug N' Play . To be honest though, I've been playing with all of my son's toys. We got him a remote control all-terrain vehicle that's awesome (I want to buy one for myself) and a remote-control hover craft to go along with his 'Scooby Doo Unmasked' (PS2) and 'Toy Story 2' (V-Smile) video games.

Highlights included a new razor, a rice cooker, and an automatic timed feeder for our cats so they no longer start scartching the bedroom door at 6 in the morning.  No one buys me video games at this point... they figure I'll do all right in that arena on my own.

I know what you mean. My wife is the only one that gets me games and they're either ones that I've picked out or given her the names of. She'd never try to pick out a game for me on her own (and I wouldn't want her too ).

FIFA '06
Fight Night Round 2
Operation Flashpoint
Heroes of the Pacific
Atari Anthology
Intellivision Lives

- all for Xbox, plus I have a small EB Games gift certificate

I also got these movies:

Gladiator
Small Soldiers

And, I got clothes, like 2 pairs of work (dress) pants, some Cleveland Brown and OSU gear, etc.

Oh, and a toaster!

All in all, it was a very nice take for the holiday season for me this year!

Kevin

The HDTV I bought myself just before Thanksgiving became a Christmas gift, so that was cool.  I also got a baby bottle warmer that I put to use right away, and one of those cool single cup 'pod' coffee makers.  I love it, and it's appropriate because I'm the only one in the house that drinks coffee.

Used gift certificates to pick up Guitar Hero, too.

Lemme know if you want online company for Op Flashpoint, Kev.

I was overcome by the groundswell over at DSP and I picked up the 'budget' Westinghouse LCD when it was on sale at Best Buy.  Certainly not top of the line, but good enough for me for now!

Actually, I'm finding the sharpness, the colors, the blacks, and the response rate all to be wonderful...the only thing that bothers me right now is a backlight leak at the corners.  It's an irritant more than anything as I usually don't notice it, but I may swap the set anyway to see if I get a better one.  It seems to be a fairly widespread complaint with the brand, though.

Isn't that the set that supports 1080p?
