I was stumbling across some reviews to see what the smaller sites were thinking and there is not alot out there. I did run across what appears to be the worst review of MVP 06 on the internet and in a magazine. I wish people could review a game for what it is (college baseball) and not what they wish it would have been (MLB).

What a joke . If someone like myself, who has no interest or knowledge of college baseball, can enjoy this game tremendously, I have no idea why other people can't too. Would I like the game better if it was a pro game? Yes. Does that mean I'm not enjoying the game? Absolutely not. The gameplay is excellent and it's alot fun - end of discussion.

Oh and I wonder what the story is with this:Cal State Long Beach is the 49'ers, but in the game they are the CS Long Beach Dirtbags?

After poking around the net it looks like dirtbags is the nickname for the baseball program.  Unusual name to say the least.

Hit a home run tonight using the contact button.  56 power.  350 feet.  Barely cleared the wall in right center at Forest Park.  In fact it bounced off the top of the wall and out.

Also saw a homerun hit off a light pole and bounce back into the outfield.  That was a  nice moment.

From Gamefaqs, someone addressing the Dirtbags name:

The unofficial nickname of Long Beach State 49er baseball team refers to the program’s style of play and success against higher profile programs. The moniker was first coined for Coach Snow’s first team in 1989 which was comprised of nearly all new players. Playing without a home field (LBCC, Cerritos JC and Blair Field), and practicing at a local all-dirt Pony Field, that team won its first 18 games and advanced to the 49ers first College World Series appearance. Then-infield coach Dave Malpass would take his infielders to the all-dirt field for their rigorous workout. The infielders would return to the regular practice field after their sessions covered in dirt. Thus the name “Dirtbags” was born. The name resurfaced again in 1993 when the 12-12 49ers rallied to win 34 of their next 41 games and finish three outs short of the National Championship game. The “Dirtbags” were once again a fan favorite at the 1998 College World Series as the country received a lesson in “Dirtbag” baseball.

Hey Web thanks a lot.  Neat story.

Jason,  I'll be using the Dirtbags in our game tonight.

Nope, Xbox.

My ps2 is just about kaput, and when a game comes out for both systems I usually go xbox.  I still buy the really good PS2 exclusives, though.  Right now I love Guitar hero, for instance.

I still plan on grabbing Hitz for the PS2 if I see it in a store, too, so you can school me up with some hockey. ;)

I'm following all the comments of you Sony boys closely, though! :)

Welcome to my world Web. It's a lonely one being an Xbox owner here.

PS I loved Guitar hero when I played it on the kiosk. I wish another dev would steal the idea and bring it over to the Xbox.

LOL. I was probably one of the few gamers that was upset when EA announced they were going to support Xbox Live because I knew alot of the guys I played online with would move away from the PS2 to play their EA games online.
