What basketball games are you looking forward to this year? I've heard that NBA Live has taken a big step forward this year and the new analog stick shooting in NBA 2K6 is pretty interesting. I may end up picking up both games again for the fourth year in a row.

I have no interest in the pro game.  I purchased College Hoops in the past, but I don't know if I will again considering the problems the last two years.

I picked up a college basketball game (March Madness 2005) for the first time ever last year and enjoyed it alot. I considered College Hoops 2k5 but heard about all of the bugs and was also beginning to tire of the 2k basketball game engine.

I know Kush developed College Hoops 2K5 and 2K6, but did they also develop NBA 2K6? I hope not as their track record has been pretty bad as far as bugs are concerned. I just wish NBA Live 2005 kept the graphics and camera angles from NBA Live 2004 but kept its improved gameplay.

I am fairly sure that NBA 2K6 is being handled by Visual Concepts, not
Kush, and that a lot of the talent from the NFL game got transferred over
to the NBA division. I'm looking forward to both of them, but 2K6
probably gets the nod, as I've been looking for someone to innovate on
the whole jump shot mechanic for a long time. The whole, release-at-
the-top-of-the-jump thing just isn't very involving to me.

If Live can eradicate that ice-skatey feeling where it doesn't quite feel like
feet are touching the floor, I'll be happy.

My biggest problem with basketball games is that you have to play fairly
long quarter lengths to get realistic shot numbers and scores. It wears on
me after a while.

I'm glad to hear that Kush is not handling NBA 2K6. I was somewhat disappointed with NBA 2K5 but expect good things from 2K6. I was surprised to find out that NBA 2K6 will sell for $40 instead of $20. That alone may prevent me from buying the game unless it's a huge improvement over 2K5.

Both 2K hoops games were ruined for me last year once I discovered a bug that allowed me to drive to the hoop at will... in both games! I hope they figure it out and get it fixed, as no one really talked much about it, despite my best efforts to make a stink about it over at Operation Sports.

Ted filled me in on that bug while we played our football game Friday night. I never knew it even existed. I thought most of the bugs were in the Franchise mode. I'll have to try this out on my copy of NBA 2K5.
