NASCAR 08 Demo?

I've tried it, Jason.  8 laps of Daytona with 10 AI cars.  I'm finding it difficult to qualify particularly well - my best is 9th, I'm regularly 7 or 8 tenths per lap off the pace and on a track which requires nothing except opening the throttle and turning left, that's a lifetime.  The control is twitchy on default settings, and I've not found an option in the demo to change them but I know the sensitivity can be changed in the full release, and plenty of people have found a setting they're happy with so I'm not unduly worried about that.

The handling is solid, conveying the weight of the car well and doing nothing particularly wrong.  I'm having a lot of bother working out how good the AI are, though.  Why?  Well, to start with there are only 10 AI cars and they can thin out quite quickly (inevitably, if there's a little incident around them, they'll need to lift, allowing the leaders to break away, and with such a small number of cars racing it's impossible to form a draft train to catch up to the front again), so assessing them at close quarters is difficult.  Secondly I'm quite adept at driving into them, which doesn't help matters much.  More alarmingly, though, they seem very good at driving into me.
