Early impression - your wife went to Wal-mart by mistake, and got into an argument with the redneck greeter because he kept insisting she wasn't at Target. Security was called in, and she ended up at Gamestop and picked up NHL2K9 instead. |

That would be grounds for divorce . Luckily she arrived home from Target with NHL 09. Played my first game and love it so far. |

Early impressions from one online team play game. I won over half my faceoffs and played good positionally. I got called a piece of sh*t by a team mate and never got passed to. Do you ever have fantasies about getting 60 seconds alone in a room with some of these mouthy randoms?
Played two be-a-pro's offline and had fun. I'm glad EA implemented one minute period increments and have been playing on 7 minute periods. In be-a-pro I'm a third line grinder in the AHL, but I got over 39 minutes ice time in my first game (should be 12 to 15). So I figured out that I don't have to press B and the coach will put me in on his own. So I did that and I still led the team with 30 minutes ice time. So I may adjust the fatigue slider or go back to 5 minute periods to see if that eliminates the problem. |

I can't believe you played an online team play game with some random. There are too many dicks in the world to do something like that.

Well I really wanted to evaluate the be-a-pro online, but I couldn't figure out how and ended up in regular OTP. Then I didn't want to quit because I didn't want the DNF and figured it would be good practice on FO's because I was locked to center. Oh and the guy who called me a POS did so because I didn't pass up to him at the blue line on one occasion. I didn't see him because he was so far upscreen and he was cherry picking on the blue line the whole game. We ended up losing 4-2. It wasn't fun. |

I ended up playing a couple of online OTP full team games with randoms and actually had a pretty good time. Of course, I had my headset off. ;) The first game was hysterical with everyone from both teams (Except me hanging back on defense!) glom to the puck like they were a bunch of 5-year olds playing soccer! :D Thankfully, folks adjusted, and I had a blast both games.
Though I think I'm probably better on O than D, I had a really fun time playing RD last night, although the camera caused me some issues. When the play is deep in the O-zone and I'm back by the blue line, it's really hard to get a view that enables you to stay in position and follow the play at the same time.

Finally figured out how to get into OTB-BAP games. My god, what a hoot. I played my skater as a center in one game and scored a goal on my first shot. It felt awesome. The next two games they needed a goalie so there I was between the pipes. We won the the first in shootout and I stopped all 3 shots. The second we won 4-1 when the other side quit in the middle of of the second period. I didn't like that we didn't get credit for the win, but oh well.
I'm thinking of being goalie alot. |

I'll second the experience of on-line play -- I didn't even mind the load mouthed pre-teen last night who kept screaming at every offsides. Wish I could play with you guys online -- maybe one day 360s and PS3s will live in harmony...

How are you finding being a goalie as compared to 08? It was pretty easy to allow goals in 08....is it somewhat better in 09?
