I will bet a copy of MVP 06 that that reviewer has never been to a college baseball game. It's not like the football games folks.
My dad played football and baseball for KU. He loves the game of baseball far more than football, but pursued a football career even though he claims he was a much better baseball player. When I asked him why he said, "I played in front of 50,000 screaming fans in the fall and 2000 clapping fans in the spring. It just doesn't compare." I'm sure the CWS is different and I'm sure there are rivalry games that get more exciting, but the atmosphere in MVP is like all the college games and summer league games I've been to. The criticism that it isn't as exciting as NCAA football is accurate. The expectation of it to be as exciting isn't. |
