Just to get an idea what everyone uses as far as settings and features, edits.

I play all matches on 20 minutes - 3 stars - normal camera (with an occasional use of fixed/player cam). Auto Goalie, manual changing of defenders.

I downloaded Feanors? file from OS that was an edit from someone elses PES5 file and is terrific. All the logos are done, a few teams edited like Hearts FC. I especially like the way he set up the ML (naming). One is for British Premier and then he combined Spain/Europe, Dutch/German and Italian/French (I think that is correct). I split the teams evenly between them.  I just started a 3 star ML with Man City.   Tried running a ML with Celtic but it was on two star and I scrapped it because it was a little too easy. I threw in all the lower rated teams in the EPL and a Celtic, Rangers and Hearts, and two others I forget the name of in my Div 2.

I rarely ever create myself in a sports game but decided to create an all star that plays on Manchester City and the US team. Gives me a little more desire to stick with a ML having an that added attachment of seeing my virtual self get to Div 1 and then win the British Premier.

Also plan to run an International Team league but will depend on how much free time I have. Plus I am starting a World Cup tourney and usually run a few of those as different teams.

This game (and to an extent Rugby 06) is simply dominating my free time. I need to get back to some CH 2K6 and MVP 06.

5 stars, 10 minute matches, default teams, default camera, auto goalkeeper, manual player changing.

For a long time, people have advocated the use of longer game lengths throughout the WE series, not just in Master League play, but I've never gone for it.  I'm not concerned about realistic stats, and it seems that 10 minutes is more than enough time to get men injured, booked, sent off or any combination thereof.  It stops me getting too sloppy as well - in a longer match I always find, as I do in real life, that I'll sometimes pass when I should shoot or, and this is much more likely, shoot when I should pass.  If I know I don't have too long to make amends for an error I'm more likely to weigh up what I should do with the ball and not waste possession.

I haven't created myself in PES 5 but I did in PES 3 when I did the CG Pro Evo Chronicles.  If you find the lifespan of the game isn't what you'd hoped, create a team of your own.  You don't have to do what I did and round up willing participants, stats, strengths and weaknesses, just sling some names in there.  I had Dave T in goal, Web, JC, Zep, Seth and I in various midfield roles, Kevin at the back, Ted ploughing on bravely with DeeDub87 up front (and where's he got to these days?) and my God, I actually cared about you lot...

Cheers,
Adam

Edit - how can I be known as Statto and not be bothered about realistic stats?  Well...football, to my mind, isn't a game of absolutes.  If you were to ask me what a typical number of shots or fouls per game should be, I probably wouldn't be able to answer.  Every match is different, not like in a racing game where there is an absolute lap time, or as near as, that should be achievable and if you're 10 seconds up or down on it then the game isn't quite where it should be.  There's a variance with every set of stats, and the differences can be vast.  I see all sorts of different types of match in PES 5, so I know what I'm seeing is right.  The numbers, just this once, aren't something I'll worry about.

Could have sworn I posted in this thread days ago.  Oh well.

3 stars, 20 minutes, auto goalie, full auto switch, normal or wide cam.  I play the 20 minutes not for realistic stats, but I want an honest chance at scoring more than 1 goal.  And 10 minutes just isn't enough time to do so for me.

I play my ML on my PC version and use an option file that someone created that filled in the missing teams and kits.  I use Karneval (FSV Mainz 05) in the Bundesliga.

Adam, I remember that team and those stories were great.  I think DD is turning about 18 years old this year.  Probably a senior and probably out getting into trouble somewhere .  He was a good kid.  I'd like to see him come back around sometime.

BD, I have Dressed to Kill on DVD.  Izzard is very funny.

Doh! I just recalled a thread like that. Even former members of the thread police make a faux pau on occasion.

Was there another thread like it?  I meant more that I remember my post nearly verbatim and I swore I posted it.  What's weird is that a couple of weeks ago I had a similar incident.  Maybe I have forum deja vu because I did a search and came up with nothing.

Actually it was in the middle of the 6 page WE thread on the second page. Kevin asked about it and you were the first to reply.

Using "bud's" option file from OS.  No classic players.  5-stars, 15 minute games, "Normal-Long" camera (wide doesn't seem right this year), auto-GK, and manual switching.  Playing as West Ham.

I set-up my divisions as follows:

Premiership: Division One--13 EPL Teams (top-13 from last year's standings), 2 Dutch Teams (Ajax and PSV), and Celtic.  Division Two--5 EPL Teams, 2 Dutch (Feyenord and AZ) and Rangers.

La Liga: 13 Spanish Teams, 3 Portugese.

Serie A: 13 Italian Teams, 3 Turkish.

Bundesliga: 10 German Teams, 6 French.
