Champs Sports Clemson (7-4) vs. Colorado (7-5)
NCAA 06
First Half
Let me preface this by using a few quotes from Lee Corso. The Clemson offense is "ugly." I almost took him up on the suggestion of replacing my offense with defensive players. At the very least they could hang on to the ball better then what was displayed on the field this sunny afternoon. All that said, Clemson takes a 14-3 lead after one quarter thanks to a 90 yard interception return for a TD. Then picking up a fumble and rumbling 5 yards for another defensive touchdown. Clemson's defense played tough all game long against a solid running attack and limited Colorado as best a team could playing with their back to the wall. Clemson's defense was unable to score in the second quarter. Too many turnovers by the Clemson offense leavling the Buffaloes with great field position all game. At the half the Buffs took back the lead 19-14.
Second Half
See the first half, rinse, repeat. One of my worst offensive performances in NCAA 06. The final score of this one was never in doubt. If there was a sim to the end option in the game I would have used it just so I did not have to play with Clemson's offense any longer.

Insight Arizona State (6-5) vs. Rutgers (7-4)
NCAA 06
First Half
Rutgers is back in a bowl game and I was not going to let them down. With a tough one two punch running the ball and a fairly consistant passing attack I was able to get up early. Score at the half had Rutgers ahead 28-13.
Second Half
Critical picks helped Rutgers take this one going away. It could have been much worse but I killed most of the 4th qtr on the ground eating up the clock and never letting ASU get the ball.

MPC Computers Boise State (9-3) vs. Boston College (8-3)
NCAA 06
First Half
Gotta love playing on the frozen tundra on the smurf turf. Possibly the most relaistic I have seen the CPU play offensively in a bowl game. The BC offense was as dry and conservative as the real life version. Tough to stop their run but Boise St did their part as well by getting some yards themselves on the ground. The cold air and tough BC defense kept the Boise St completion % low all game. At the half BC had a slim 14-10 lead.
Second Half
Pretty exciting second half where Boise St was always coming from behind. Boise St took the lead back late int he 4th. Boston College took the kickoff and drove down the field to the Boise St 20 yard line wiht 2 minutes left on the clock. On first down they ran play action and took a shot at the end zone only to throw into double coverage and get picked off. Boise St runs out the clock for the hard fought win.

MasterCard Alamo Michigan (7-4) vs. Nebraska (7-4)
NCAA 06
First Half
Pretty much a battle on the ground. I expected to pass more but Nebraska had a fairly easy time running on me. Up 10-7 after one. Down 10-21 at the half thanks to a fumble deep in my own territory and an int returned for a TD.
Second Half
Could never get anything into the end zone and with another fumble (this time in the redzone) and pick Nebraska came away with an easy "W."

Emerald Bowl Georgia Tech (7-4) vs. Utah (6-5)
NCAA 06
First Half
It was a close game for a quarter but GT pulled away with a tough ground game using multiple runnung/full backs. At the half 20-10 GT. The only TD for Utah came on defense returning an interception for a TD.
Second Half
Sacks R US as GT was able to 9 in the game. They came from 6 different players who also forced Utah into numerous rushed throws. GT sailed to victory on the ground.

Pacific Life Holiday Oregon (10-1) vs. Oklahoma (7-4)
NCAA 06
First Half
This will go down as the most perplexing game of NCAA 06 I have played. I went into the game knowing that if I stuck to the run it would be a cakewalk for OU. So before starting the game I planned on giving 2/3 of my offense playsto Rhet Bomar and the passing game.
Well at the half it seemed to be working okay as we took a 31-17 lead. Oregon was held to 35 yards on offense. So how do you explain the 17 points? An interception and fumble return for a TD, including another int returned to the 10 which led to the FG.
Second Half
Oregons defense score TWICE more to bring the game to a 31-31 tie. Once on a punt block and yet another int returned for a TD. OU continued to move the ball but kept throwing picks or fumbling in the red zone (I recall at least 5 turnovers in the red zone). Out of nowhere in the 4th quarter the Oregon RB turns into Reggie Bush and scores on two 50+ yard runs and they top it off with a passing TD.

Motor City Memphis (6-5) vs. Akron (7-5)
NCAA 06
First Half:
I am not used to the 3-3-5 defense but since it was the default defense I played it the full game, only changing to Nickel in the rare 3rd down and passing situations. Honestly I doubt it would not have mattered what Defense Akron used in this game as Memphis could do no wrong. They ran and passed their way to a 28-24 lead. It could have been much worse but DeAngelo fumbled inside the redzone. Akron was also able to get a late FG by comepleting a lucky deep ball that was tipped TWICE before getting snagged by an Akron WR.
Second Half:.
This would be classified as one of my most embarrasing moments playing NCAA 06. I will have nightmares of DeAngelo Williams, the Memphis QB and receivers for nights to come. Throw in losing my starting RB early in the 3rd qtr and I was doomed. Most of my second half yards came late in the game against the second string Memphis defense.

AT&T Cotton Texas Tech (9-2) vs. Alabama (9-2)
NCAA 06
First Half
I was able to score early and often taking a 21-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Alabama slowed me dow in the 2nd as the had a few long drives on the ground. 28-14 Tech at the half.
Second Half
3 turnovers in the 3rd quarter led to Alabama scoring 24 unanswered and going on top 28-38. Fortunately Tech got that out of their system and tied the game up late. The after a stop of Alabama near mifield Tech went 95 yards in under 2 minutes to kick the winning FG.

Outback Iowa (7-4) vs. Florida (8-3) Florida wins this one easily. (17-31)
NCAA 06
First Half
I played this one way too late at night and it showed with my 6 INT's. I just could not get the ball over those Iowa LB's in a zone D. I was able to take a 21-14 lead at the half but that was due primarily to 3 INT's of my own.
Second Half
Well the only bright side was it finally ended. It was the most passes I have ever thrown in a game this year and The amount of tiped ball by the linbackers had me pulling my hair out more then the interceptions.

Toyota Gator Louisville (9-2) vs. Virginia Tech (10-2)
NCAA 06
First Half
With a backup QB in for Louisville this one was never in doubt, so to amuse myself I played most of the game using Michael Vick like Fran Tarkenton from yesteryear. I just wanted to see how long I could scramble around with him inside and outside the pocket. I rarely ever let him actually run past the LOS, which would account for all the sacks and INT's I threw. Most of Louisvilles points came off this experiment. 7-7 at the end of one and Va Tech took the lead 28-14 at the half.
Second Half
Pretty much handled things with the running game in the second half. Limiting Vicks passing to 3rd down plays.

Capital One Wisconsin (9-3) vs. Auburn (9-2)
NCAA 06
First Half
A close game for the most part, decided by turnovers in the red zone. Auburn threw a pick at the 15 on their first drive. Throw in a fumble around midfield and you have a 20-3 Wisconsin lead at the half.
Second Half
Auburn fumbled twice more in the 3rd quarter, once in the red zone. Late in the 4th they were able to make a comeback scoring with 5 miuntes left to make it 27-14. After a three and out Auburn drives it to the three yard line where they proceed to throw another int in the redzone. Fortunately it was caught at the one and after another three and out, with two plays being incompletions to keep the clock stopped, Auburn passes it's way to 27-21 with just over a minute remaining. Attempt onside kick and fail. Wisconsin runs two plays and on the thrid play, suprisingly to me, fumble the ball away leaving just at one minute on the clock and no timeouts with 70 yards of field to navigate for the win. One completion out in the flat for a first down and to stop the clock. Unfortunately the story does not have a happy ending for the Auburn Tigers are sacked for a huge loss, followed by three straight incompletions.

Tostitos Fiesta Notre Dame (9-2) vs. Ohio State (9-2)
NCAA 06
First Half
The perfect matchup for me as I despise Notre Dame and there would be no mercy rule. Ohio States offense is really really good or ND was really really bad. Either way I had a 55-14 lead at the half.
Second Half
No mercy but Teddy Ginn made up for it by fumbling 2 punt returns preventing me from getting near the elusive 100 mark.

Nokia Sugar West Virginia (10-1) vs. Georgia (10-2)

First Half
The game was tight for most of the first half. WV closed the gap to 17-21 with just over one minute left. Georiga runs two long QB draws and throws a long TD taking only 30 seconds off the clock. On the ensuing kickoff the WV return man fumbles at the twenty and Georgia gets the score that broke the camels back.
Second Half
WV passing game was limited to short slants due to the pass rush and the starting RB gets injured early in the 3rd. Georgia wins this one going away.

Updated my results/picks versus the actual games on the first page (post #2). I doubt Vegas will not be knocking down my door with the results.
Guess I gave the Big 12 North too little credit. Guess they are not as bad as I thought. Still inferior to the Big 12 South of course.
